URS receives CARF International Accreditation

CARF AccreditedCARF (the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) announced United Rehabilitation Services of Greater Dayton (URS) was recently awarded a Three-Year Accreditation for the agency’s comprehensive programs for children and adults with disabilities in the Miami Valley.   This is the 10th consecutive time that URS has received this accreditation which recognizes the organizations dedication and commitment to improving the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities.

The accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and demonstrates URS’ substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process. It has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during a three-day onsite visit, its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.

URS was originally founded as the Dayton Chapter of United Cerebral Palsy and today provides services each day to more than 400 children and adults with Down syndrome, Muscular Dystrophy, Autism, Alzheimer’s and many other disabilities. URS offers unique services including a special needs childcare as well as physical, occupational and speech therapies. In addition, URS provides vocational training, adult daycare, in-home care, and respite services. The ultimate goal is to increase skills and independence of children and adults with disabilities.
