Job Development

Job Development involves a systematic approach to identifying and contacting potential employers who may or may not have a posted position opening. The job seeker and provider staff will work collaboratively to develop a placement plan which identifies specific responsibilities, lists specific positions and employers that the job seeker is interested in pursuing, and establishes the a routine of contact between the job developer and job seeker.
Job Development will include creating or updating the job seeker’s resume or application template, sending out cover letters and resumes to potential employers, providing job leads to the job seeker to follow up on, review the job seekers interview skills, follow up on contacts with employers when applications have been submitted or when a job seeker has an interview, discussion of hiring incentives and potential tax credits with employers, and providing support in requesting and implementing reasonable accommodations. Outcome of this service is to obtain and maintain permanent employment.
