Job Readiness Training (Project SEARCH)

Project SEARCH is a one year, high school transition program which provides training and education leading to employment for individuals with disabilities.

It is a collaboration of several partners including Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD), Bridges to Transition, Developmental Disabilities of Clark County, Springfield Clark CTC, URS, and Springfield Regional Medical Center.

This program has requirements based on school credits, job readiness, independence level, family and natural supports, and ability to navigate the hospital environment.

URS provides individualized job coaching services to each intern along with the support of a department mentor for a well-rounded training experience. This is a 9 month school year program with the outcome of successful community employment. This program has proven to have high success in assisting each student gain employment following participation, gaining national recognition for 100% employment for 2 years in a row.

Some options for work experiences include Dietary and Cafeteria, Housekeeping, Sterile Processing, Warehouse Management, the Acute Rehabilitation Unit, Information Technology, and opportunities for more.
