United Rehabilitation Services (URS) announced the opening of a new Adult Services Day Habilitation Program in Springfield, Ohio for adults and seniors with disabilities or other special needs. The new center, located at 2963 Derr Road in the Moorefield Shopping Center, will focus on meaningful community integration activities to enhance physical, social and psychological needs of individuals with disabilities. The new center will have the capacity to serve 25 adults/seniors and will employ three staff initially, including a part-time nurse, and eight additional staff at full capacity.
The new Springfield Adult Service Program will feature weekly art and computer classes, exercise program, Summer Camp and community inclusion activities to Boonshoft Museum, movie theater, and the Springfield YMCA. URS Community Employment Program will also house a satellite office in the new center which provides vocational work experience and job placement services for high school students and adults with disabilities.
