Our Adult Day Programs offer adults with disabilities a goal-oriented program of developmental and therapeutic services to initiate, maintain, increase or maximize an individual’s independent functioning and become more actively involved in their community.
The Center is open to ages 18 or older, from 7:30 am – 5:30 pm. In October 2011, we added the Vectren 2nd Shift Vocational program which is from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Nursing services are offered throughout the day, including g-tube feedings, breathing treatments, seizure monitoring, medication administration and countless other medical services.
Adult Day Services
URS’ Adult Day Services Programs provide health services, therapeutic services, and social activities for people with disabilities. Adult Day Services participants often require and receive assistance with activities of daily living (ADL) such as eating, bathing, dressing and toileting. They are also offered the opportunity to participate in activities such as “life skills classes.” Participants can partake in arts and crafts, gardening, recreational activities and vocational activities with a focus on maximizing their level of independence.
Vocational Services
Vocational services address pre-vocational skill development through classes, and simulated or real work experiences for which they are paid with the hope that this training could lead to competitive employment. Community integrated recreational and volunteer activities are also offered on a regular basis. URS’ Vocational Services program promotes independence, work skills and offers wages through several job opportunities including small parts assembly, culinary, janitorial and our secure shredding program.
