Physical Therapy
← Back to Therapy Services PagePhysical Therapy involves working towards minimizing physical dysfunction and enhancing an individual’s independence, safety, and quality of life. The therapists provide activity that increases flexibility of joints, coordination, balance, strength/endurance and quality of movement patterns. Individuals and care providers are taught skills such as how to get in/out of bed/chairs and cars, walk on level/stairs, get up from the floor, mobilize wheelchairs and generally move with better body mechanics. To relieve pain, therapists use heat/cold, pain modalities (electrical stimulation, etc.), patient education and hands-on techniques.
