Special Needs Childcare & Other Youth Services
URS provides quality care for children from six weeks to 18 years with disabilities or other special needs promoting their physical, mental and social development, as well as typically developing children, offering an “inclusion policy” which encourages and accepts all siblings in the family, not just children with special needs.

Monday through Friday children participate in structured, developmentally appropriate activities which stimulate growth in language, science, math, music, creative, motor, and social skills. URS is the only special needs childcare center with RN’s & LPN’s on staff to care for the critical needs of our children. Our nurses and therapists work with the children and the classroom aides to develop individual goals and objectives for each child.
URS is a partner with the Miami Valley Child Development Centers which allows us to provide full day and part day Head Start services.
United Rehabilitation Services is proud to be a Five Star Rated Center in the Step Up to Quality Program which means that our program has:
- Lower group size and lower ratios in the toddler, preschool and school-age classrooms
- The administrator, all lead teachers and assistant teachers complete 20 hours of specialized training every two years.
- Provides annual performance evaluations, professional development planning and at least two benefits
- Birth through 5 years use the Early Learning and Development Standards, Kindergarten through age 17 use the Ohio Common Corp Standards
United Rehabilitation Services is proud to be part of the City of Dayton and Mayor Nan Whaley’s initiative to create a City of Learners. The City of Dayton is striving to “become a city that invests in its children, a city that recognizes that nothing will be right, nothing truly great and lasting can be accomplished if our children aren’t getting the education they need and deserve.” For more information about our unique quality care services for children, view this video:
Infant Care Center
Quality infant care is difficult to find for most parents. But, as the parent of a child with special needs, it is even harder. The child may have unique medical or physical needs, or may require special equipment and nursing care. For these parents quality and professional care is of the utmost importance. We accept infants from 6 weeks to 18 months.

Our Infant Care team of experts in conjunction with the family develops an individual care plan to meet your infant’s need for therapy, medications, and activity. Each infant’s daily activities enhance their individual development in all areas. Activities to stimulate the growth and development of the brain enhance the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of each child. A safe, secure environment enables infants to bond with caregivers, learn to trust, and develop emotional intelligence that plays an important role in early development.
Child Care Center
URS provides quality care for toddlers and preschoolers (ages 3 -5 years old) in our Child Care Center promoting their physical, social and emotional development in a safe, secure environment.
Latchkey Program
