“We change the world a little each day with our kindness”
– Tom Giaquinto

Christe is a Pharmacist at the Target in Huber Heights and volunteered at URS for the first time this past May through Target Cares Day. This volunteer experience motivated her to become a regular volunteer at URS. She comes in every week on her day off to volunteer in the Preschool Classroom with a big smile on her face! Christe often personally donates materials and craft projects for the children. She brought in coloring pages with the Target Dog on them and created a fun contest for the kids. She had each preschooler color a picture and give their doggie a name. She put all of the pictures on a banner and hung them at the Target Pharmacy entrance and asked her customers and the employees to vote for their favorite doggie! Little Landon and his dog Lucky won and Miss Christe brought him a stuffed Target Dog as a prize!
This week Christe brought the children a 6-foot Cardboard Locomotive Choo-Choo Train with case of markers for them to color the train. They participated in assembling it and absolutely loved this activity. She also brought large leftover boxes from her store so that each child could make their own train car! The kids had so much fun playing with the train!
It’s volunteers like Christie that help enrich the programs URS offers each day to hundreds of children and adults with disabilities. So today we want to thank Christie for sharing her talents and treasure with URS! She’s truly one-of-a-kind and we are so happy to have her as part of our URS family!
